Oklahoma City
Denver

[DENVER] — The Denver Nuggets played host to the Oklahoma City Thunder last night and the Nuggs did everything that was asked of them, walking away with the 111-105 victory. The win bumps Denver's record up to 40-42 on the season, while the loss drags Oklahoma City's down to 47-35. Though a win's a win and Nuggets fans will settle for whatever they can get their hands on, there's plenty of room for improvement in the future. Games likes these are essential for any team with bigger aspirations.

Team results aside, a monster night from Nikola Jokic is all that fans will be talking about as they process the contest. Jokic pumped out a stat line of 29 points, 16 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 blocks and 1 steals in 40 minutes on the night, quantifiable proof of his place among the top tier of NBA players. Ask anybody, however - Jokic included - and the most important part is that the Nuggets walked away with the W. Each win adds up over the course of the season with the end goal being far more satisfying than a Tweetable stat line.

Joining Jokic in the winning effort was Jamal Murray. Had it not been for Murray rounding out the Nuggs's attack with 27 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists of his own, we may have been looking at a different outcome.

Denver's offensive contributions were complemented from a decent showing on the defensive end of the ball. While they didn't exactly shut down the visiting Thunder, they did limit them to a point total in line with their season average. Not every performance can be a home run, so the Nuggs will settle for the upper hand in this one.

Up next for the reeling Nuggs will be a date with the while the visiting Thunder will look to bounce back in a matchup with the .
