Golden State

[GOLDEN STATE] — The Golden State Warriors played host to the Minnesota Timberwolves last night and the homeside took care of business. A 121-107 win has the Warriors and their fans feeling good about themselves heading forward. The win bumps Golden State's record up to 64-14 on the season, while the loss drags Minnesota's down to 31-46. Though a win's a win and Warriors fans will settle for whatever they can get their hands on, there's plenty of room for improvement in the future. Games likes these are essential for any team with bigger aspirations.

On this night it was Klay Thompson leading the show from a statistical perspective. His 41 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 blocks and 2 steals in 33 minutes topped all players in terms of general production. Ask anybody, however - Thompson included - and the most important part is that the Warriors walked away with the W. Each win adds up over the course of the season with the end goal being far more satisfying than a Tweetable stat line.

Joining Thompson in the winning effort was Stephen Curry. Had it not been for Curry rounding out the Warriors's attack with 19 points, 3 rebounds and 9 assists of his own, we may have been looking at a different outcome.

From a personal standpoint, Klay Thompson made his presence felt from beyond the arc, toying with defenders all night long and connecting on an impressive 7 bombs. Putting a stop to any NBA calibre talent is no easy task, but even more so when they're red-hot from beyond three-point range.

Golden State's offensive contributions were complemented from a decent showing on the defensive end of the ball. While they didn't exactly shut down the visiting Timberwolves, they did limit them to a point total in line with their season average. Not every performance can be a home run, so the Warriors will settle for the upper hand in this one.

Up next for the reeling Warriors will be a date with the Phoenix Suns while the visiting Timberwolves will look to bounce back in a matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers.
