Los Angeles

[LOS ANGELES] — The Los Angeles Clippers played host to the Washington Wizards last night and the Clips did everything that was asked of them, walking away with the 133-124 victory. The win bumps Los Angeles's record up to 45-31 on the season, while the loss drags Washington's down to 46-29. More than just a victory, the performance could serve as a boost for the Clippers. Having scored early and often against their opponents this time out, the club will look to capitalize on their momentum heading into their next contest.

An impressive performance from John Wall led all players in the contest and his 41 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, 0 blocks and 3 steals in 39 minutes will make many-a-fantasy owner proud. Unfortunately for Wall, what really matters - the result on the scoreboard - still leans in favor of the Clippers. Perhaps continued performances like this one in the near future will get Washington back in the win column before too long.

At the helm for the Clippers in the victory was Blake Griffin and while he may not have posted a more attractive statline than Wall, he did help his club walk away with the victory. Griffin posted 26 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists in the win.

From a personal standpoint, J.J. Redick made his presence felt from beyond the arc, toying with defenders all night long and connecting on an impressive 7 bombs. Putting a stop to any NBA calibre talent is no easy task, but even more so when they're red-hot from beyond three-point range.

Perhaps just as significant if not more so than any individual performance, was Los Angeles's ability to take the Wiz out of their game. A stellar defensive performance by the Clippers helped insure the victory from the moment the two teams set foot on the court. Should the club continue to excel on both sides of the ball, the rest of the league better start planning accordingly.

Up next for the reeling Clips will be a date with the Phoenix Suns while the visiting Wizards will look to bounce back in a matchup with the Utah Jazz.
