[INDIANA] — The Indiana Pacers played host to the Minnesota Timberwolves last night and Pacers fans will wish that they could have another crack at this one. The narrow 114-115 defeat was and still is a tough one to swallow. The loss bumps Indiana's record down to 37-37 on the season, while the victory gives Minnesota a 29-44 total on the year. It's not overly surprising that the Pacers would end up losing this one consider they did little to establish themselves as dangerous threats. Perhaps the showing can serve as an essential building block for the team in the days to come.

An impressive performance from Karl-Anthony Towns led all players in the contest and his 37 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assists, 1 blocks and 1 steals in 41 minutes will make many-a-fantasy owner proud. Most importantly, the Timberwolves managed to prevail where it mattered most and will happily add another victory to their season total. So long as Towns keeps producing at this rate and Minnesota keeps winning ball games, everybody - from fantasy owners to the team coaching and executive staff - will be more than satisfied.

Though Indiana didn't end up getting it done when it mattered most, Paul George did walk away with the small consolation of an attractive 37 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Whether another bright individual performance can help them get the result they want on the scoreboard next time, however, remains to be seen.

It's game like this where it's clear that they can't all be victories. Though the Pacers would come out of this one empty handed they can rest assured that they did their jobs on the defensive end. Should Indiana maintain their defensive fortitude, it's likely that they'll find their way back into the win column soon enough.

The loss hurts for the homeside but they'll get their opportunity to regain ground in a pending matchup with the . The Timberwolves, meanwhile, will set their sights on a run-in with the .
