Phoenix
Charlotte

[CHARLOTTE] — The Charlotte Hornets played host to the Phoenix Suns last night and the homeside took care of business. A 120-106 win has the Hornets and their fans feeling good about themselves heading forward. The win bumps Charlotte's record up to 33-40 on the season, while the loss drags Phoenix's down to 22-52. More than just a victory, the performance could serve as a boost for the Hornets. Having scored early and often against their opponents this time out, the club will look to capitalize on their momentum heading into their next contest.

On this night it was Kemba Walker leading the show from a statistical perspective. His 31 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 blocks and 0 steals in 38 minutes topped all players in terms of general production. Ask anybody, however - Walker included - and the most important part is that the Hornets walked away with the W. Each win adds up over the course of the season with the end goal being far more satisfying than a Tweetable stat line.

Though not quite able to steal the show, T.J. Warren did a fine job leading his ultimately unsuccessful Suns. Warren's 21 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists were one bright spot for the team that spun out in the matchup.

Beyond any individual contributions, one of the major reasons why it was the Hornets walking away victorious was Charlotte's ability to limit Phoenix's offensive output. By holding the Suns to less than they usually produce the Hornets made their life considerably easier.

Up next for the reeling Hornets will be a date with the Cleveland Cavaliers while the visiting Suns will look to bounce back in a matchup with the Charlotte Hornets.
