[BOSTON] — The Boston Celtics played host to the Phoenix Suns last night and the C's did everything that was asked of them, walking away with the 130-120 victory. The win bumps Boston's record up to 47-26 on the season, while the loss drags Phoenix's down to 22-51. More than just a victory, the performance could serve as a boost for the Celtics. Having scored early and often against their opponents this time out, the club will look to capitalize on their momentum heading into their next contest.

Leading the way in one of the finest individual performances of the season was Devin Booker. Booker's borderline-historic night of 70 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 blocks and 3 steals in 45 minutes will be remembered as one of the nights he truly displayed why he's held in such regard at the NBA level. Unfortunately for Booker, what really matters - the result on the scoreboard - still leans in favor of the Celtics. Perhaps continued performances like this one in the near future will get Phoenix back in the win column before too long.

At the helm for the Celtics in the victory was Isaiah Thomas and while he may not have posted a more attractive statline than Booker, he did help his club walk away with the victory. Thomas posted 34 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists in the win.

Perhaps just as significant if not more so than any individual performance, was Boston's ability to take the Suns out of their game. A stellar defensive performance by the Celtics helped insure the victory from the moment the two teams set foot on the court. Should the club continue to excel on both sides of the ball, the rest of the league better start planning accordingly.

Up next for the reeling C's will be a date with the Miami Heat while the visiting Suns will look to bounce back in a matchup with the Boston Celtics.
