[CLEVELAND] — The Cleveland Cavaliers played host to the New York Knicks last night and the homeside took care of business. A 119-104 win has the Cavs and their fans feeling good about themselves heading forward. The win bumps Cleveland's record up to 40-16 on the season, while the loss drags New York's down to 23-35. Though a win's a win and Cavaliers fans will settle for whatever they can get their hands on, there's plenty of room for improvement in the future. Games likes these are essential for any team with bigger aspirations.

An impressive performance from LeBron James led all players in the contest and his 18 points, 13 rebounds, 15 assists, 3 blocks and 0 steals in 37 minutes will make many-a-fantasy owner proud. Ask anybody, however - James included - and the most important part is that the Cavaliers walked away with the W. Each win adds up over the course of the season with the end goal being far more satisfying than a Tweetable stat line.

Joining James in the winning effort was Tristan Thompson. Had it not been for Thompson rounding out the Cavs's attack with 10 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists of his own, we may have been looking at a different outcome.

From a personal standpoint, Kyle Korver made his presence felt from beyond the arc, toying with defenders all night long and connecting on an impressive 6 bombs. Putting a stop to any NBA calibre talent is no easy task, but even more so when they're red-hot from beyond three-point range.

Cleveland's offensive contributions were complemented from a decent showing on the defensive end of the ball. While they didn't exactly shut down the visiting Knicks, they did limit them to a point total in line with their season average. Not every performance can be a home run, so the Cavs will settle for the upper hand in this one.

Up next for the reeling Cavs will be a date with the while the visiting Knicks will look to bounce back in a matchup with the .
