Los Angeles
Phoenix

[PHOENIX] — The Phoenix Suns played host to the Los Angeles Lakers last night but didn't exactly treat their visitors with any semblence of dignity or respect. Not only did the Suns manhandle their beleagured opponents, they embarassed them to the tune of 137-101. The win bumps Phoenix's record up to 18-39 on the season, while the loss drags Los Angeles's down to 19-39. More than just a victory, the performance could serve as a boost for the Suns. Having scored early and often against their opponents this time out, the club will look to capitalize on their momentum heading into their next contest.

An impressive performance from Eric Bledsoe led all players in the contest and his 25 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists, 0 blocks and 2 steals in 36 minutes will make many-a-fantasy owner proud. Ask anybody, however - Bledsoe included - and the most important part is that the Suns walked away with the W. Each win adds up over the course of the season with the end goal being far more satisfying than a Tweetable stat line.

Though not quite able to steal the show, Julius Randle did a fine job leading his ultimately unsuccessful Lakers. Randle's 13 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists were one bright spot for the team that spun out in the matchup.

Perhaps just as significant if not more so than any individual performance, was Phoenix's ability to take the Lakers out of their game. A stellar defensive performance by the Suns helped insure the victory from the moment the two teams set foot on the court. Should the club continue to excel on both sides of the ball, the rest of the league better start planning accordingly.

Up next for the reeling Suns will be a date with the while the visiting Lakers will look to bounce back in a matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
