[MILWAUKEE] — The Milwaukee Bucks played host to the Brooklyn Nets last night and the hometown crowd got exactly what they paid for in the form of a hard-fought 129 to 125 Bucks victory. The win bumps Milwaukee's record up to 25-30 on the season, while the loss drags Brooklyn's down to 9-47. More than just a victory, the performance could serve as a boost for the Bucks. Having scored early and often against their opponents this time out, the club will look to capitalize on their momentum heading into their next contest.

An impressive performance from Brook Lopez led all players in the contest and his 36 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assists, 8 blocks and 1 steals in 35 minutes will make many-a-fantasy owner proud. Unfortunately for Lopez, what really matters - the result on the scoreboard - still leans in favor of the Bucks. Perhaps continued performances like this one in the near future will get Brooklyn back in the win column before too long.

At the helm for the Bucks in the victory was Giannis Antetokounmpo and while he may not have posted a more attractive statline than Lopez, he did help his club walk away with the victory. Antetokounmpo posted 33 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists in the win.

From a personal standpoint, Brook Lopez made his presence felt from beyond the arc, toying with defenders all night long and connecting on an impressive 6 bombs. Putting a stop to any NBA calibre talent is no easy task, but even more so when they're red-hot from beyond three-point range.

Perhaps just as significant if not more so than any individual performance, was Milwaukee's ability to take the Nets out of their game. A stellar defensive performance by the Bucks helped insure the victory from the moment the two teams set foot on the court. Should the club continue to excel on both sides of the ball, the rest of the league better start planning accordingly.

Up next for the reeling Bucks will be a date with the Detroit Pistons while the visiting Nets will look to bounce back in a matchup with the Miami Heat.
