New York
New Orleans

[NEW ORLEANS] — The New Orleans Pelicans played host to the New York Knicks last night and the homeside took care of business. A 110-96 win has the Pellies and their fans feeling good about themselves heading forward. The win bumps New Orleans's record up to 15-24 on the season, while the loss drags New York's down to 17-21. Though a win's a win and Pelicans fans will settle for whatever they can get their hands on, there's plenty of room for improvement in the future. Games likes these are essential for any team with bigger aspirations.

Leading the way in one of the finest individual performances of the season was Anthony Davis. Davis's borderline-historic night of 40 points, 18 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks and 0 steals in 28 minutes will be remembered as one of the nights he truly displayed why he's held in such regard at the NBA level. Ask anybody, however - Davis included - and the most important part is that the Pelicans walked away with the W. Each win adds up over the course of the season with the end goal being far more satisfying than a Tweetable stat line.

Though not quite able to steal the show, Brandon Jennings did a fine job leading his ultimately unsuccessful Knicks. Jennings's 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists were one bright spot for the team that spun out in the matchup.

New Orleans's offensive contributions were complemented from a decent showing on the defensive end of the ball. While they didn't exactly shut down the visiting Knicks, they did limit them to a point total in line with their season average. Not every performance can be a home run, so the Pellies will settle for the upper hand in this one.

Up next for the reeling Pellies will be a date with the Brooklyn Nets while the visiting Knicks will look to bounce back in a matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers.
