Recent Player Analysis

8/23 - Bogdan Bogdanovic

The Kings made 2014 draft-and-stash prospect Bogdanovic the highest paid rookie of all time this offseason but that doesn't mean he'll be guaranteed a starting role. Regardless, the wing will likely play a significant role in Sacramento's rotation out of the gates considering that his international experience should give him a leg up on some of his younger teammates. 8/23 - Norman Powell

Powell is beloved in Toronto but he hasn't gotten a consistent chance to show what he's made of. Take a flyer on the 24-year-old in deep leagues now that Terrence Ross and DeMarre Carrol will break camp in other cities but don't overlook the fact that Toronto's front office made a point to draft a wing with their first-round pick and then went out to sign C.J. Miles. Expect a modest improvement from the third-year wing, little more. (@AustinKent)Norman Powell profile page

8/23 - Marvin Williams

Williams regressed to the mean after a career year in 2015-16, so don't expect more from the 31-year-old than you have at any other point over the course of the past decade. Williams is a safe bet to play a key role in Charlotte's rotation but you probably don't want him eating valuable minutes on your roster unless he's at the very bottom of your lineup. 8/23 - Aron Baynes

The Celtics are somehow more desperate for frontcourt help than they were last season, which is saying a lot. That could bode well for Baynes who, as of this writing, remains the only established traditional big man on the roster behind Al Horford. Baynes has proven that he's capable of modest production in limited minutes, so don't rule out a career year for the 30-year-old. At least until the C's decide to trade one of their 72 wings for another PF/C. (@AustinKent)Aron Baynes profile page

8/23 - Patty Mills

It's safe to say that Mills hasn't been the source of efficiency that fantasy owners hoped for after an impressive first season with San Antonio. That said, the Spurs clearly value him enough to hand him nearly $50M in guaranteed money. Tony Parker will start the season on the shelf this year, which will give Mills plenty of opportunity to play significant minutes but it may be time to wonder if he's already hit his fantasy ceiling.
